GIWPS joined with the International Co-operative Alliance to launch new research by Bank of America Fellow for Women and the Economy Andrew Walker. His report “Cooperative Connections: Connecting Female Artisan Home-Based Workers through Women’s Cooperatives in Jakarta, Indonesia” found that cooperatives are an important tool for women artisans, and offer opportunities for saving and borrowing as well as health services, education, and the potential to leverage collective voice.
