GWIA Hosts Event on Global Women in Entrepreneurship

Global Women in Entrepreneurship Reception

Date: Thursday, November 13
Time: 6 - 8 p.m.
Location: The Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation, ICC Suite 100

To celebrate the launch of the International Council on Women’s Business Leadership by former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on October 30th, as well as UN Women's Entrepreneurship Day, GWIA hosted an event to celebrate Women in Entrepreneurship. Georgetown Women in International Affairs (GWIA) and the Graduate Women in Business (GWIB) organizations invited all graduate students interested in women’s business leadership to participate in the growing momentum surrounding issues of women and the economy at Georgetown University. Keynote remarks were made by Jane Mosbacher Morris, Founder and CEO of To the Market, and Sonal Shah, Executive Director of The Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation. Both women have started successful international social entrepreneurship initiatives, and are committed to creating opportunities for future generations of women in business. The event provided the opportunity for GWIA and GWIB members, as well as other Georgetown graduate students, to expand their personal and professional networks by connecting on issues of shared interest.
