Event Overview
Women’s rights have become increasingly important to development efforts. In the United States, the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative (W-GDP) was just announced, and gender equality is a key component of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On the eve of International Women’s Day 2019, Chicago Council on Global Affairs hosted a discussion with Amb. Melanne Verveer and Katelyn Jones to consider progress made, acknowledge past and present challenges, and identify future policy avenues on the path to gender equality nationally and globally.
