Raiyan researches on issues related to women’s economic empowerment, particularly with regards to the role of digital financial inclusion in women’s economic empowerment in fragile and conflict states. Previously, she worked at the World Bank researching the role of youth in the context of social contract in Africa. Through her Masters, she also explored the role of higher education of women in the prevalence of intimate partner violence and policies to overcome much of the social and cultural norms surrounding IPV. Raiyan received her BSS in Economics from BRAC University (Bangladesh) and holds a Masters in Public Policy from the McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University.
