The Department of State’s Plan to Implement the U.S. Strategy on Women, Peace and Security (2020-2023)
Summary
This strategy was developed in response to the Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2017, which established the United States as the first country in the world with a comprehensive law on women, peace, and security. Its integration into our foreign policy toolkit will strengthen our efforts to prevent, manage, resolve, and recover from conflict, thereby advancing our national security priorities. The Department of State’s WPS Implementation Plan will advance core U.S. national security objectives by providing a more stable and durable foundation for American foreign policy efforts.
