Patricia Espinosa is a Mexican politician and diplomat who is currently serving as the executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Previously, she served as the Mexican Ambassador to Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Slovakia and as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico from 2006 to 2012. Espinosa is experienced at the highest levels in international relations, and specialized in climate change, global governance, sustainable development, gender equality and the protection of human rights.
