Research Director

The Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security (GIWPS) is hiring a Research Director to lead the development and execution of rigorous, policy-oriented research on Women, Peace and Security from our Washington, DC campus. As a senior member of GIWPS leadership, the Research Director will identify emerging issues in the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) field to ensure our research remains timely, rigorous, and relevant to global policymakers. They will oversee research projects and grants, ensuring high-quality deliverables, strong project execution, and effective dissemination of findings to key stakeholders. They will also direct a diverse team, manage cross-functional collaboration, and contribute to fundraising and organizational growth. We’re looking for someone with subject-matter expertise in Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), advanced methodological training, and experience managing policy-oriented research portfolios. A proven track record in people management, grant oversight, and strategic decision-making is a must, as is the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of initiative, adaptability, and attention to detail.

Events Coordinator

The Events Coordinator will play a key role in maintaining GIWPS’ reputation as a respected and growing global platform that drives progress for women and girls around the world. Through coordination and execution of events, the Events Coordinator will enable discussions that elevate women peacebuilders and shape the WPS field, as well as successful partnerships with key stakeholders that directly influence policy processes and ongoing educational and outreach-related convenings.

Graduate Research Assistant

This position provides an opportunity for a graduate student to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of research, policy, and strategic communications. The Research Assistant will contribute to GIWPS’ work on gender, climate change, and peacebuilding, while developing skills relevant to careers in international development, policy research, and global affairs.
