This event focused on addressing the ongoing Russian war crimes that, two years after a full-scale invasion, continue to inflict death, ruin, and suffering on the Ukrainian people. The discussion emphasized the imperative for accountability in addressing violations of international law, including human rights law, committed by the Russian Federation while also examining existing accountability initiatives and exploring ways forward. The event commenced with brief opening remarks from our partners, which was followed by a screening of the film “TENETA,” a short documentary based on accounts from witnesses to Russian crimes in Ukraine collected by Raphael Lemkin Center for Documenting Russian Crimes in Ukraine. The event concluded with a discussion led by experts in war crimes and accountability.
