The Future of Democracy in Africa with Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

On March 20, GIWPS co-sponsored a conversation at Georgetown University with Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former President of Liberia, on the future of democracy in Africa. Sirleaf served as president of Liberia from 2006 to 2018. She is the 2011 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the first woman to be elected chair of the Economic Community of West African States.
The event was organized by the Global Human Development Program at Georgetown. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield moderated the discussion.
