This paper focuses on the gender equality implementation work of the United Nations Transitional Assistance Group (UNTAG) mission in Namibia. It highlights the gender challenges that UNTAG was presented with in Nambia, as well as how female participation in the civilian component of the mission has impacted the overall implementation of gender equality.
