Summary

This report examines the prevalence of sexual violence in Sierra Leone. It provides a comprehensive survey of the international mechanisms that are designed to prosecute such violence, in the course of explaining the history of the war and the abuses women were subject to. Specifically, it highlights some of the transitional justice mechanisms and international responses that have been unique to Sierra Leone.
