Launch of the 2025/26 Global Women, Peace & Security Index

GIWPS Research Launch

The Permanent Mission of Norway, in partnership with GIWPS and the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security, launched the fifth edition of the global Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Index, which scores and ranks 181 countries based on 13 indicators of women’s status across the dimensions of inclusion, justice, and security. 

The launch included a briefing by our WPS Index Research Manager, Haleema Hasan, who discussed trends by region, within indicators, and across time while also exploring how the Index can serve as a critical tool for policymakers, practitioners, and activists.

This event was co-hosted by The Permanent Mission of Norway and The Permanent Mission of Japan, in partnership with the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security and the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security.
