A Rapid Mapping of Afghan Women Peacebuilders: Contributions Before August 2021, Evolving Roles, Current Challenges, and Recommendations for Women’s Engagement in Future Peacebuilding
The central conclusion of the mapping is unequivocal: Afghan women peacebuilders retain substantial knowledge, credibility, networks, and experience, but their ability to contribute has been severely constrained. Any future peacebuilding process that excludes their leadership and expertise will undermine its inclusivity, legitimacy, effectiveness, and sustainability.
