Introducing Gender in Conflict and Conflict Prevention: Conceptual and Policy Implications
Abstract
This paper aims to explain why and how gender matters in the analysis of the origins of conflicts i.e., the analysis of the structural and the subjective causes of conflict, and in conflict prevention. It does so by proposing a framework for gender analysis that consists of three main components: causes of conflict, impact of conflict, and conflict prevention planning and implementation.
