Peace as Disappointment: The Reintegration of Female Soldiers in Post-Conflict Societies – A Comparative Study from Africa
Abstract
This report aims to increase knowledge about the situation of women who have been soldiers in various countries in Africa, to map and analyze the demobilization and reintegration process of female soldiers in a post-conflict situation, and to suggest how demobilization and reintegration can be facilitated. It compares the situation of female soliders in various African settings, focusing in particular on continuity/change and socialization.
