Women Faith-Based Mediators in Iraq: Challenges and Opportunities Within Peace Mediation
Summary
This study examines the experiences of Women Faith-Based Mediators (WFBMs) in Iraq. It focuses on twelve WFBMs who work in conflict settings across Iraq, often focusing on facilitating the return of displaced Sunni families accused of fighting with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS). Faith-based perspectives can be used to navigate complex social dynamics and enable effective peace mediation in the context of violent conflict.
