On Wednesday, October 17, GIWPS hosted a conversation with Syrian journalists and civil society leaders at the Mortara Center for International Studies about political solutions for building a better Syria. Syrian women and civil society are courageously working through the crisis to build peace and promote free expression, accountability, and inclusion. As part of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting’s Syrian Women’s Advocacy Tour, these women journalists and civil society leaders have shared not only their experiences of life under Islamic State and regime control, but also their vision for their country’s future.
