Executive Summary

This chapter examines how UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 was implemented in Nepal’s peace process. The peace process in Nepal began six years after UNSCR 1325 was adopted. The UN peace mission was deployed several years after other UN agencies began implementing UNSCR 1325-related activities in country. This chapter examines the interaction among UN agencies, the interaction between the UN and Nepali civil society and government, and the way in which these interactions contributed to the implementation of UNSCR in the country.
