WHAT: During her remarks at Georgetown the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska is expected to call for development of Ukrainian studies programs at American universities and discuss the impact of Russia’s unprovoked full-scale invasion of her country on universities and schools. Zelenska is expected to address the worsening humanitarian conditions, including access to children’s education, as well as critical needs of communities that have suffered heavy damages during the war. She will also gift 260 books about Ukraine to Georgetown University’s Library, part of the “Ukrainian Bookshelf” project which brings Ukrainian publications to the world’s leading libraries.
