Dalia Grybauskaite

Dalia Grybauskaite served as the eighth President of Lithuania from 2009 until 2019. The first woman to hold the position, she also became the first President of Lithuania to be reelected for a second consecutive term. Previously, Grybauskaitė served as Minister of Finance, strongly supporting privatization and liberalization efforts, as well as European Commissioner for Financial Programming and the Budget. She was also selected as the “European Union Commissioner” in 2004, responsible for financial programming and budgeting and spearheading efforts to reform the European Union budget. From 2014 to 2019, she also served as Chair of the Council of Women World Leaders.
