Kateryna Levchenko is the Government Commissioner for Gender Equality Policy in Ukraine.

Kateryna Levchenko is a human rights activist and politician currently serving as the Government Commissioner for Gender Equality Policy. Appointed by the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, Kateryna coordinates and monitors gender policy across ministries as well as central and local executive governing bodies. She is charged with overseeing the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security and assists in developing state programs on gender equality in collaboration with civil society and international organizations. Previously, she served as a member of the Ukrainian Parliament and represented Ukraine in the OSCE’s Parliamentary Assembly. She has authored legislation on domestic violence prevention, strengthening protection for children, and gender equality. Outside of government, Kateryna has served as the President of the International Women’s Rights Centre “La Strada-Ukraine” for more than 20 years.
