The war in Ukraine has exposed Russia’s extensive campaigns of disinformation and hybrid warfare that pose a threat to global security and democratic progress. Join a timely conversation with Ukraine’s Minister for Veteran Affairs Yulia Laputina who will discuss Russia’s disinformation campaigns against Ukraine and neighboring states, Ukraine’s response to this global threat, and prospects for effective international engagement. Minister Laputina holds the rank of Major General of Ukraine’s State Security Service, served in Donbas in Ukraine’s Armed Forces, and is a member of the National Security Council of Ukraine. Dr. Sara Moller, Associate Teaching Professor in Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program (SSP), will moderate the timely conversation.
Co-hosted by The Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security (GIWPS), Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, Berkley Center for Religion, Peace & World Affairs, Center for Security Studies, Mortara Center for International Studies, and Georgetown University Ukrainian Society.
The event will be first-come first-serve for current Georgetown students. Please RSVP on the form linked above.
