Disinformation and Hybrid War in Ukraine: A Conversation with Minister for Veteran Affairs Yulia Laputina

The war in Ukraine has exposed Russia’s extensive campaigns of disinformation and hybrid warfare that pose a threat to global security and democratic progress. Ukraine’s Minister for Veteran Affairs, Yulia Laputina, discussed Russia’s disinformation campaigns against Ukraine and neighboring states, Ukraine’s response to this global threat, and prospects for effective international engagement. Minister Laputina holds the rank of Major General of Ukraine’s State Security Service, served in Donbas in Ukraine’s Armed Forces, and is a member of the National Security Council of Ukraine. Dr. Sara Moller, Associate Teaching Professor in Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program (SSP), moderated the timely conversation.
