Human Trafficking in Conflict Zones

In This Video

Human trafficking is modern day slavery. It occurs around the world and is exacerbated by conflict, which increases demand for forced labor and sexual services and places refugees and IDPs in vulnerable situations. During human trafficking prevention month, we interviewed experts about trafficking and its particular effect on women in conflict.

This video features Ambassador Mark P. Lagon, SFS Centennial Fellow, Georgetown University and Former Ambassador-At-Large to Combat Trafficking in Persons; Ambassador Madina Jarbussynova, OSCE Special Representative for Combating Trafficking; and Cindy Dyer, Vice President, Human Rights, Vital Voices.
