Mayor of Bethlehem Vera Baboun

Mayor Vera Baboun is the first female mayor of Bethlehem. Since her election in 2012, Mayor Baboun has worked to provide citizen services, stability, and economic development in the uniquely challenging setting of the Palestinian Authority. Mayor Baboun is also a researcher and published author on the topic of women’s empowerment in the Middle East.
