In collaboration with the Peace Research Institute of Oslo (PRIO) and with support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, this paper explores the relationship between countries’ scores on the 2019 WPS Index, which measures women’s wellbeing, and the INFORM Global Risk Index, which ranks countries according to their risk of humanitarian crises. The authors find a strong association between countries that are most vulnerable to humanitarian crises and countries with low scores of women’s wellbeing. Read about the preliminary findings here.
