This brief addresses the concept of transitional justice processes, using Liberia as a significant case study for how to reform cultures of impunity and re-establish rule of law. It highlights how crimes of war are more likely to be addressed during transitional efforts when women contribute, because women link official processes to communities and often provide information about crimes. In Liberia specifically, a consortium of organizations facilitated a series of regional women-only dialogues to ensure that local women were involved in the transitional justice process.
