Gender and Security Sector Reform: Examples from the Ground

Abstract

This report provides key examples from on-the-ground situations in the interest of illustrating ways in which a gender perspective has been integrated in different security sector institutions and security processes around the world. Based on public research, data, and reports, it explores examples from police, defense, justice, penal, and parliamentary systems to provide a comprehensive assessment of security sector reform (SSR) monitoring and evaluation.
