Abstract

This paper examines the trajectory of gender integration in training for peacekeeping within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). It focuses on the strategies by which gender and particularly women's rights considerations have been integrated into ECOWAS' peacekeeping agenda. It specifically focuses on and situates the discourse within the context of training for peacekeeping and peace support operations, which has thus far been the most obvious entry point for the integration of gender perspectives.
