Mapping Women, Peace and Security in the UN Security Council: Report of the NGOWG Monthly Action Points, 2009-2010
Abstract
This report is the product of an initiative to provide guidance and data-tracking for policymakers interested in women, peace, and security. Specifically, it provides a series of monthly action points that guide UN implementation of UNSC Resolutions 1325, 1820, 1888, and 1889, and tracks the gaps and challenges in the implementation of those resolutions. The report suggests the primary challenge to implementation are that information flows are inconsistent and inadequate, policy options suffer from constant inaction, and Council output is generally ad hoc.
