Executive Summary

In an interview with Mavic Cabrera-Balleza, International Coordinator of the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) and program partner of the International Civil Society Action Network, and AWID (Association for Women’s Rights in Development), Mavic Cabrera-Balleza integrates the global context of many different conflicts and how these crises have impacted and extenuated violence against women. This interview contains discussion about neoliberal globalization, militarism and violence against women. It further explores the questions of what are women’s economic and social roles in conflict and how the international community could use UNSCR 1325 to economically empower women’s in war.
