Abstract

At the 2007 International Meeting on Women’s and Girls’ Right to A Remedy and Reparation, women’s rights advocates and activists along with sexual violence survivors, gathered to discuss transitional justice for sexual and gender-based violence suffered during conflicts. More than 30 NGOs signed on and issued the Nairobi Declaration that stated reparations for survivors of sexual violence is an fundamental part of transitional justice.
