Executive Summary

The work of today’s international feminist campaign is by no means complete, but Cooper believes that its achievements in one short decade are worth pausing to consider. The rising consciousness of transnational women’s organizations who were determined to extend the ideals and promise of so-called second-wave feminism onto an international plane, was also nurtured by the convocation of UN conferences on women’s rights.
