Abstract

The chapter “contribute[s] to the understanding of the processes by which women and men rebuild life and renegotiate gender roles, as well as the aspects that must be take into account for a gender-sensitive policy for internally displaced people.” (133). The chapter discusses a diversity of reasons men and women (distinctly) have been displaced in Colombia. In this way, the chapter gives insight into the lived experiences of women amidst the conflict in Colombia between 1994-1999.
