The Origins and Early Years of the Northern Ireland Women’s Coalition
Abstract
This article examines how the Northern Ireland Women’s Coalition helped promote inclusion of Northern Irish women in the Parliament and other national structures. It discusses how a history of gender discrimination has shaped political processes and exclusion of women (especially Northern Irish women) from decision-making roles in the UK.
