Executive Summary

This report explores the systematic use of rape as a weapon of war. Focusing on the frequency of cases in the Eastern Congo, it uses witness reports and documents to highlight issues including impunity for the soldiers that perpetuate sexual violence, how rape victims experience and deal with social stigma, and the status of medical services to treat such sexual-based violence.
