Executive Summary
This brief draws on the perspectives of over 450 Sri Lankan women, across ten districts in the war-torn northern provinces of the country. Based on the feedback of the women surveyed regarding both the legal gains obtained as well as the ongoing economic and social insecurities endured, this report offers recommendations to the Sri Lankan government and the international community for how Sri Lanka can best meet the priorities reflected in the 2012 Sri Lankan Women’s Agenda on Peace, Security and Development.
