Abstract

This report is based on consultations with women leaders throughout all of the provinces in Afghanistan. It highlights the concerns women feel for their lack of meaningful involvement in the security transition process, their lack of trust for Afghan Local Police Unites, and lack of gender equality -and utilization- of formal judical mechanisms. It recommends greater gender training for ANSF forces, a rejection of the 2014 withdrawal date, and amount of international funds earmarked for recruiting women into ANSF.
