The Women’s Security Index (WSI) has developed a unique methodology for mapping changes in women’s experiences regarding their safety and security, providing a source of data for activists, NGOs and policy makers. The 2012 WSI survey included interviews with more than 700 women, both Jewish and Palestinian. There is an abundance of data, but due to the space constraints this booklet focuses only on a selection of findings and issues from the available data sets. We hope the WSI will constitute a reliable source of data regarding women’s perception of their security and become an important tool for changing the lives of women living in Israel.
